From The Preacherâs Heart
Today is what we call Motherâs Day. A special day of the year to celebrate mothers and all that they do. Some of us still have our mothers with us. Others have seen their mothers enter into Glory. There are women in our congregation who have never given birth to a child of their own but have found themselves being mother figures to others. I just want you to know, whatever your case may be, you are appreciated. It has been over 4 years since my own mother passed away yet her influence is still ever present. She helped to define my life and who I would be. God ultimately put His calling on my life, but there is no doubt in my mind that He used her to shape and mold me. Each and every one of you can probably say the same about your own mother. And if you never think you need momma just think back to when you were a child and would get sick. I donât know about you all, but Daddy, although sympathetic, just couldnât offer the same comfort as Momma could. Momma had a special way of taking care of her babies. I see that in my wife with my kids. I see that in you mothers in the church with your kids. I see that with all the ladies in the church with all the kids. Ladies, you truly are a blessing from God. Children, young and old, donât forget that. Thank you mothers for all that you do!
