How many of you enjoyed last Sundayâs service as much as I did? I thought David Burton did a great job! Some of the things he illustrated may have been a bit elementary, but I think that is just what we need sometimes. We have to get back to the basics . We say, âI want to go deeper and deeper in Godâs wordâ. Nobody wants to be milk fed when we know there is a steak waiting for us. Only one problem, sometimes our teeth are not tough enough to chew that steak. I have known new Christians that want to jump right into the book of Revelation. My advice to the new Christian is to jump right into the Gospel of John and get to know this Jesus. Simple is not always bad. We tend to complicate things to the point where nothing gets done. We have made intentional witnessing so complicated that the average Christian is scared of messing it up. I read somewhere one time that less than ten percent of Christians will share their faith with someone before they die. Folks, that is unbiblical. That is a calling none of us are exempt from. James Merritt said, âDisciples of Jesus make disciples of Jesusâ. That should be our number one priority. As a church we should be focused on how to reach people for Jesus. What do we do? We complicate that as well. We have all these church programs and all sorts of committees. There is nothing wrong with these things as long as we donât lose sight of our purpose. When I was in Bible school I was taught the K.I.S.S. method. Keep it simple stupid! I have to remind myself of that a lot of times. Letâs put all our pride aside and just do what our Lord once asked of us. Too come to him as little children.
In His service,
Bro Johnathan Tayl
