Eastside Baptist Church was formed in 1984 just on the outskirts of Vernon, Florida. The church is well known for their missions, building relationships, and dedication to service. When we leave our doors, we enter our mission field.
Services
- Sunday School 9:45 AM to 10:50 AM.
- Worship Service 11 AM Till.
- Wednesday Prayer and Bible Study 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
- Van Service Transportation is offered but must be scheduled at least 48 hours prior to time of pickup for Sunday School/Church or Youth Meeting. To schedule please call Shawn Sanders at 1-850-703-1722.
- Women's Baptist Missionary Union (WMU) Meeting, usually the Third Sunday of the Month. See announcements to confirm date, place, and time.
Missions
- Emergency Food Pantry for special needs are offered every Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm.
- Food Give Away Every Quarter on the 2nd Saturday. For 2026: March, June, September and December.
- Sewing House Ministry: Meeting once a month. To join the sewing circle, contact Gloria Brock at 1-850-260-1787 for more information.
- One More Child Sponsorship and/or Mission Trips.
- Participants provide donations to The Blessing Box Ministry, located at the Sam Mitchell Vernon Library.
- Operation Christmas Box participants provide volunteer time for box assembly, packing, or transportation, monetary donations or individual WOW donations.
- Support for the Florida Southern Baptist Convention Ministries such as Lottie Moon, Pure Water; others such as Liberian Ministries and Saving Grace; or other local, state, national, or international projects as they arise.

Our Pastor
Our Pastor is Brother Davvid Heaviland. An ordained minister who diligently fosters the sharing Jesus Christ with our community. As we move into a new chapter of our church history, we invite all to come and visit.

Allie and RD Moreland are active in the church leading the worship service and Children's Worship ministry.
Our Treasurer
Libby Street-McNaron
Libby is also very active in the Baptist Women's ministry and helps with the Youth Group Alpha to Z.
Our Secretary
Gloria Brock
With many, many years of experience as a founding member, she remains dedicated to the job of Secretary. Her gifts include singing, collecting funds, guidance for the Women's Missionary meetings, and the Sewing Ministry.
Our Deacons
Michael Brock
Michael Brock is a retired teacher from Vernon High School. Known as "Mr. Brock", he has influenced more than 3 generations of students. A beloved teacher of the youth and the Adult 2 class, he has been an active servant and founding member of Eastside Baptist Church.
As a respected elder of the church, he provides an important role as we move into yet another era of our history.
Danny Lloalbo
Danny has been a blessing to the church, providing guidance and leadership regarding our physical buildings. He has an awesome knowledge base of the Bible and theological studies, providing classes on Wednesday nights as assigned. His guidance is valuable to all members of the church, and we appreciate his continued service.

Teachers of both the younger class of Sunday School Youth and our Children's Church.
Valuable members of the church and great role models for our youth.
Shawn and Jessica Sanders
Youth Class Older Elementary, Middle School to High School
Shawn and Jessica Sanders lead the older Youth class in the upstairs classroom 1. With young girls of their own, they utilize their relationship to plan interactive classes that meet the older youth's needs.
Shelley Adams and Peggy Adams
Teachers of Adult I Sunday School Class in the Fellowship Hall.
A mother-daughter team who explore the Bible together, sharing meaningful life lessons through interactive and heartfelt exchanges of personal experiences.
Michael Brock
Teacher Adult II Sunday School Class in the Sanctuary.
An experienced teacher who provides an exploration of the bible with insightful preparation. An interactive class that explores and relates current issues and the bible in a small group setting.
Peggy Adams
Missions
Coordinates the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas box ministry with the other members of the church to prepare and pack boxes year round.
Shawn Sanders
ALPHA Z Youth Group Activities
Coordinates the Youth Group ALPHA Z meetings every 3rd Friday each month along with special trips such as Adventureland, Youth Camp, Wild Adventures and other one day activities.
Ruth Carroll and Billy Carnley
Food Pantry
Ruth Carroll and BIlly Carnley open the Food Pantry at the Fellowship Hall of the church on Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm.
All of these people bring selfless dedication to the church and we are so blessed to have them.
